Oh, I really, really liked this one :) The story was witty and refreshing, and I had heaps of fun reading it. In a way it was like a crazy mix of Harry Potter and Inception, with some cute and humorous details (like trash trolls, or electronic devices developing an independent existence).
Most of the protagonists (the good, the bad, and the ugly ^^) were great, esp. the MC, Dusty. Admittedly, they were pretty stereotyped, and usually I don't like that that much. In this case, however, it suited the story, because it showed that magickind are just rank and file citizens. Well, more or less :D
Even though somewhat clichéd, using the usual suspects, and sometimes a little predictable, I liked how the story developed. There were enough twists and suprises to keep me highly entertained. Writing and most notably worldbuilding were amazing.
Not a perfect book, but a great one. Looking forward to read the sequel.
